Call to Order: Micah Austin, City Administrator
Minutes: April 10, 2024 -Tabled, approval pending changes.
In Attendance: Micah Austin, Tracy Bono, Cindy Donovan, Clarissa Jones, Sgt Kyle Fielding
Citizens' Requests: Bruce Rick wants something done with the speeding and dangerous traffic
conditions near schools on Midway Ave. and Owen St. He attended last month's meeting to
voice concerns but is not present today. — Sgt. Fielding reported that speed trailers were put in
the area and recorded 35 mph as the maximum speed on the trailers. He then moved to
Wildwood where a citation and a warning were issued. Speed data is showing speeds are within
parameters. Micah added he thought with the speeds and with the lanes painted Owen St. was
ok.
Morgan presented the Ross Ave. speed study. She set up near Marlene St. The average speed
is 25 mph. Ninety five percent of traffic was under 33 mph. Perception of speed seems to be the
problem.
Jeff Fullmer wanted to know why the speed bumps haven't been put back in. Tracy reported
that sweeping is happening, then it will be crack sealed, and potholes will be repaired before
speed bumps will be reinstalled.
Street Division Updates: Various maintenance work on streets and signs is being done, along
with sweeping.
Action Items: None
Discussion Items:
1. Eagle Dr./Derrald Ave. will be a roundabout not a 4 way stop. The striping on Derrald
Ave. is helping with traffic.
2. Micah is receiving calls from residents in the Hillview and Hillsdale areas about the
bridge. He is seeking information on how to appeal not closing the bridge.
