04.10.2024 MinutesCITYOF' on South 2135 Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406 Minutes Traffic Commission Wednesday, April 10, 2024 Call to Order: Micah Austin, City Administrator -9:02 a.m. In Attendance: Micah Austin, Tracy Bono, Clarissa Jones, Sgt. Kyle Fielding Excused: Cindy Donovan Minutes: March 13, 2024 -Approved Citizen's Requests Jessica Knoelk at 2030 Ross, expressed and brought comments from residents at Cassidy Dr coming off of 45th, Eagle Pointe Dr, and Wildwood Ln, about frustration with the unsafe speeds and reckless driving in the area. It is an active pedestrian area. Students and buses have nearly been hit. Sandra Knoelk commented that something needs done. Sgt. Fielding will put the radar trailer out again but the average speed in that area is 30 mph. Ammon deputies will patrol as they are able. The battery on the speed limit sign on Ross Ave is dead. Tracy will take care of that. Bruce Rick at 3100 Midway -Speeds on Owen St and Midway Ave are way too fast. He wants something done about the dangerous conditions near schools. Sgt. Fielding will touch base with the Sandcreek Middle School resource officer to see if he can patrol when people are coming to and leaving the school. He will have Ammon deputies patrol as they are able. Mr. Rick will be at the next meeting. Eric Jamison at 1855 Avocet -The speed and volume of traffic is high. What happened with the Eagle Dr bridge closure? We had meetings and the majority of the citizens didn't want it closed. Speed bumps and speed signs have been installed but the traffic study didn't change much. Tim West at 3528 E 65th S - He is in the county but still wants a 4 way stop at the 65th/Ammon intersection as well as deer crossing signs. Suggested he go to County Road & Bridge meetings and let them know how he feels. Councilwoman Boyle relayed concerns from Rex Thompson regarding White Pines. Tracy said we will have to wait until school is in and monitor the patterns. Action Items: 1. None at this time Street Division Updates: Street sweeping. There isn't any oil for street patching. As soon as they start making emulsion for the Dura-Patcher we will start street repairs. CITYOF /��^ izutmon South at35 Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho 83406 First St bridge rebuild will start in a few weeks. The 1st St project will have the utilities moved and the bridge completed this year. The rest of the project will be done next year. Discussion Items: 1. Tony Black -There needs to be an entrance sign for trucks that need to turn into Walker Produce 2. Too many trucks miss it and then have to back up or try to turn around. It is causing traffic to back up -This is not something the Commission gets involved in. Micah will call them. 2.
