the meeting involved considerable action.
.
The major item of business was to consider the proposed
recodification of the zoning ordinances. Changes address the
siting of manufactured homes in compliance with legislation to
be effective as of July 1, 1996. conunission members discussed
how to arrive at their reconunendation.
Regarding the siting of manufactured homes, Dick Bybee did not
agree with the wording, "The manufactured home shall be placed
on an excavated and backfilled permanent foundation and enclosed
at the perimeter such that the home is located not more than
twelve (12) inches above grade." He suggested that "home"
should be changed to floor level to read "that the floor level
is not more than twelve (12) inches above grade." This would
help to clarify interpretation.
There was a question about whether or not there is any way to
control the siting area. It was pointed out that the City can
not say no to siting. A developer can control by establishing
protective covenants for a subdivision.
It was decided to assign individual members chapters of Title
X Zoning (renumbered from the present Title XI) for review.
Each was asked to compare the new chapter with the old chapter,
to identify changes, and to prepare to sununarize at the the next
Planning and Zoning meeting. Assignments were as follows:
.
Chapters 1 through 4
Chapters 5 through 9
