Karen Anderson moved to approve the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Commission
Meeting held April 6, 1999, as it was written with clarification of 2 changes to the C-I Zone
and to the cul-de-sac zone. The motion was seconded by Dick Bybee. Voting was unanimous in
favor. The motion carried.
There was no report from the Bonneville County Planning and Zoning Commission.
Councilman Ira K. Hall reported on the action taken by the City Council. They approved the
Preliminary Plat on Flying Eagle Ranch Div. No.1. There was discussion about the sewer in
connection with the City of Idaho Falls, on the north end of the city. They also discussed the
pressure of the sewer from east of railroad tracks down to where it needs to hook in at the end of
the Karford property. Discussions were made on how they would do the sewer north of 17th
Street and east of railroad tracks. It was also discussed about Owen Street going into city
property and they had an offer to bring it partway into the school property. Ira explained that the
City council opted not to do that. He said that they were going to bring it to the school property
and then go from there.
Karen Anderson wanted to know what the purpose was to bring it partway in.
Ira explained that it was to hook on to an expanded parking area on west side of school which the
school is going to put in and they agreed we could bring it out to hook onto their parking lot but
no further. The discussion was that if the city did that that maybe there would be an enhancement
for the school to bring it the rest of the way through or that it would relieve enough pinch on
