October 3, 2000
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission:
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Greg Maeser at 6:30 p.m. in the City Building at
2135 South Ammon Road, Ammon, Idaho.

Ron Folsom led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.
Ron Folsom moved to approve the minutes of Planning and Zoning meeting held August 8,
2000, as amended by Tom Hunsaker's recommendation submitted to the clerk following the last
meeting. Kevin Murray seconded the motion. Voting was unanimous in favor. The motion
carried.
A Public Hearing on the SmithlRitter request for annexation was held August 8, 2000, but
action was tabled until no later than October 3, 2000. Chairman Maeser called for a report on the
statues of the SmithlRitter request.
Stafford Smith, property owner, stated that their original intention in requesting annexation with
the City of Ammon was to gain the services of water and sewer. Time was of the essence. They
needed to know ifthey could get the services, or if they needed to go a different direction. When
the request was tabled and they looked at the controversy between the City of Ammon and City
of Idaho Falls, they determined it might be some time before the issue was resolved. They went
ahead to install a septic system and to place their water lines underground. They plan to hook up
