NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE

7-6-1: NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE ADOPTED: The most current edition
of the National Electrical Code (NEC), as adopted and incorporated by reference by the
State of Idaho is adopted as the official code of the City.
7-6-2: CODE ON FILE: One (1) copy of the most current edition of the
National Electrical Code as adopted, shall be duly certified and retained by the City
Clerk.
7-6-3: FEES: The City Council shall set Fees by separate action or
resolution as warranted. In addition thereto, said applicant shall reimburse city for actual
expenses incurred by the City.
7-6-4: VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES: Any person who shall violate any of
the provisions of the National Electric Code as adopted by the City of Ammon or the
Ammon City Code as it relates to the National Electric Code shall severally for each and
every such violation and noncompliance respectively, be guilty of a misdemeanor as
allowed for in the National Electric Code and shall be charged as adopted in section
1-4-1 of the City Code. The imposition of one penalty for any violation shall not excuse
the violation or permit it to continue and all such persons shall be required to correct or
remedy such violations or defects within a reasonable time and when not otherwise
specified. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be
deemed a separate offense. A fine and daily fee shall be charged for failure to obtain a
certificate of occupancy as required by this code and the International Building Code.
Said fine shall be as adopted by resolution of the City Council as provided for by
ordinance.
