CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Hunsaker, at 7:00 p.m. at
the Ammon City Hall building located at 2135 South Ammon Road. Commissioner Sarah Jones led the
Pledge of Allegiance.
MINUTES: June 5, 2019
Commissioner Jones moved to approve the June 5, 2019 minutes. Commissioner Steve Taylor
seconded. Roll call vote: Commissioner Jones - yes, Commissioner Steve Taylor - yes, Commissioner
Danielson - yes and Commissioner Robert Taylor - yes. The motion passed.

ACTION ITEMS:
1. Annexation Ordinance: City Administrator Micah Austin presented a Power Point presentation
addressing the objectives and the benefits of the proposed Annexation Ordinance. The ordinance will require
applicants to submit information specific to the proposed annexation site such as, environmental studies, desired
use of location, and the fiscal and functionality impact to City infrastructures. This will provide direction for the
Commission and the City Council making decisions to protect the City’s health and welfare. Micah reviewed
each section of the proposed ordinance. Discussed ensured regarding the Annexation Ordinance. Micah said he
will edit the following items: add criteria for waiving some of the requirements
add flexibility in requirements for 5 acres or more annexations
make the streets, alleys, etc. section more general (keeping in parks and trails)
better define the wildlife study section.
Micah thanked the Commission for their service to the City. He discussed the annexation study conducted by
BYU students rating the desirability of annexation sites in the City impact area.
Commissioner Robert Taylor moved to recommend to City Council the approval of the Annexation
Ordinance including edits discussed. Commissioner Danielson seconded. Roll call vote: Commissioner Robert
Taylor - yes, Commissioner Danielson - yes, Commissioner Hunsaker - yes and Commissioner Jones - yes. The
motion passed.
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
1. Comprehensive Plan Land Use Map: The Commission met around the table and studied
the current land use map. They discussed areas that could be modified to best meet the needs of the City.
