Council Minutes 10/12/1974 I o 00 l'- c:o ~ ~ I I 8~ CITY OF AMMON October 12, 1974 Minutes of Special Meeting of the Mayor and City Council: The meeting was called to order at 7:30 A. M.- by Mayor Keith G. the following City Officials present: Mayor Keith C. Turnbow Councilman Russell N. Swensen Councilman Marvin J. Anderson Turnbow, with Engineer David Benton Councilman Gerald B. Cheney Councilman Brent Hirschi Invocation was given by Mayor Turnbow. Mayor Turnbow advised the Council that the main purpose of the meeting wa.s to review the bids submitted -on L.1. D. No. 6 which was opened at 4:00 p. m. on the 7th of October, 1974. (See insert.) City Engineer David E. Benton reviewed the two bids submitted by Kennaday Paving Co. and Bonneville Paving Co., item by item. The apparent low bidder was Kennaday Paving Co. with a base bid of $28, 825. 00. Bonneville Paving Co. bid was $33,203. 50. Taking the low bid of $28,825.00 plus legal, administrative, and engineer- ing costs would bring total for L. 1. D. #6 to $33,148.74. This is planned for a 15- year repayment schedule. Councilman Cheney moved that we accept the figure of $5, 898. 00 as the City share of L. 1. D. #6 as presented by City Engineer Benton. The motion was seconded by Councilman Hirschi; voting Cheney yes; Hirschi yes; Anderson yes; Swensen yes; motion carried. Councilman Hirschi moved that we accept the low bid of $28, 825. 00 for L.1. D. #6 as submitted by Kennaday Paving Co. and have City Engineer David E. Benton give said bidder notice to proceed with the project. The motion was seconded by Councilman Cheney; voting was all in favor; motion carried. A discussion was held on the Farmers Home Administration boundaries and the effect upon developmental pattern of Bonneville County and cities of Idaho Falls, Ammon, Iona, and Ucon. Mayor Turnbow, Councilmen Cheney, Hirschi, and Swensen recommended moving area to green line on map; Councilman Anderson recommended line be moved to exclu de Ammon. Turnbow, with the Clerk Deon Hemingway Attorney W. Joe Anderson Engineer David E. Benton Others present during the meeting were Galen Hesson and Merrill Walker. Pray~r was offered by Councilman Hirschi. Mr. Galen Hesson of 3.595 Georgia Lane requested consideration of a problem which has developed while preparing to hook on to the new sewer system, in that the line
