Council Minutes 05/02/1961 I ...~ c..c cv: - -.. x a: I I Ie: City of Ammon Regular Meeting May 2, 1961 Council members present were -- Roland Romre11 - DeVon Hammer - Darrell Lon~ and Harold Loveland -- Reed Molen, Mayor was also present. Others present were laVern Williams - Boyd Thomas - Lynn Sanders - Bill Brunt - Tom Kershaw and Sterling Cannon. The new City officers were all sworn in by the City Clerk, Lynn Sanders. Bill Brunt was present to discuss the possib1ities of the City of Ammon purchasin~ his building on S"y for a 'civid center. There was consider- ab~e discussion. The Board stated they would give this matter due consideration. Tom Kershaw was preSBut to discuss the traffic problem around the school Rrounds. A motion was made by Councilman Roland Romrell that the City of Ammon provide school zone si~s for adequate protection. These signs to be set at 15 m.p.h., also that pedestrian crossings be placed on inter- section of Midway- and 24th, Hi11iam, Avocet and Teton. Counci1.man Darrell Long seconded the motion and was passed by the Board. It was decided by the Board that a dog survey be taken in the City of Ammon to enforce licensing of all dogs in the City. Councilman Harold Loveland made a motion that the City of Ammon purchase swing set from Roland Romrell for $350.00. The motion was seconded by Councilman Darrell Long and passed by the Board. Councilman Darrell Long made the motion that Boyd Thomas be sustained as the City of Ammon Lawyer. The motion was seconded by Councilman DeVon Hammer and passed by the Board. A motion was made by Councilman DeVon Ha.mTI!er to have si9/!?S placed on all major roads coming into the City, which would consist of five (5) signs, announcing the City, also that the present sign at the head of Avocet be removed and replaced with a sign announcing the 6ity of Ammon.' Councilman Roland Romre11 seconded the motion and was passed by the Board. Sterling Cannon was present to discuss the possibilities of buying the well in Peterson Park. A motion was made by Councilman Harold Loveland to paise the water from three (3) dollars to four(4) dollars. Councilman Darrell Long seconded the motion and it was passed by the Board. The Board agreed to have Arnold Wadsworth put in four (4) inch line into his property, rather than a two(2) inch line. A pproved by
