Council Minutes 03/26/1962 I .n c..o ~ - - cc ~ I I or: G.,) City of Ammon Special meeting March 26, 1962 Present: Mayor Reed Molen, Councilmen Roland Romrell, Harold Loveland, DeVon Hammer, Darrell Long. The Mayor called the meeting to order, Prayer was given by Councilman Roland R:)mre11. ~~ met with the City Council, to discuss matters pertaining to the property purchased from Vern Peterson. He mentioned the water supply if plenty would be available, also an easement or a 25 foot road right of way along , the east side of the Peterson property. The Mayor asked for a map or a plot plan to present a picture of what he was talking about, which he promised in the near future to have. A chairman of the Council was chosen. Councilman Harold Loveland made a motion that Councilman Roland Romrell be appointed,seconded by Councilman Darrell Long. The motion was carried by the Council. Councilman Harold Loveland reported on a testing of the Cannon well. He said the water was not clear of sand at any depth and also it was pumping warm sulphur water about 64 degrees. Mr. Charles Cope made a report on the soil formation down to about 300 feet in the well. He promised to furnish a well record for the Cannon well. His report was not too favorable as to the cause of puIilping sand and. the warm water supply and the prospects of the well clearing up. Me1 Bnown and Charles Cope, also Attorney Joe Anderson and Steve Michaels representing the Bank of Commerce were there. Discussing testing the well Mr. Steven Michael said if they didn't want it as it was, he would rather cap it and forget about it than put any more money into it and take a chance. Discussed the financing Mr. Kichae1 said the Bank would furnish a free title to the property. The well and all equipnent and would be sold to the City of Ammon for $25,000.00 with interest at 3.71%. With 20 year contract at $150.00 per month including interest and principle. With option to payoff in 5 years. Attorney Boyd Thomas informed the City Council it was unlawful to enter into any agreement or contract that extended longer than their term of office. Suggested the contract have an option of two years. The Council agreed to give the Cannon well the terms some consideration. The final decission was the well should be tested for at least 30 days or longer. Enough time should be used to prove it is satisifactory before any contract be signed. Dermont E.
