The Mayor and City Council of the City of Ammon, Bonneville
County, Idaho" met in regular session at the City Hall, Ammon,
Idaho, on the 19t.h day of Hay, 1969 at 9:50 o'clock P.H. Hayor
Richardson presided at the meeting. The meeting was commenced
with opening p~ayer offeree by Councilman Roy Southwick. Those present
upon roll call were as follows:

Also present were Police Chief, Franklin Ricks, Maintenance
Foreman, Lavern Williams" Clerk, Jesse E. Bunnell" Ffre Chief, Marvin
McGary Engineer, Dave Benton and Assistanc~ Maintenance Supervisor,
Lloyd Cousin

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved with
one correction: That the interest rate on the proposed purchase of
Flied' and Wayne's well was 6% and not 63/4'$.
Councilman Turnbow stated that the swimming pool would be opened
May 26th.
It was decided to put out a Newsletter and Mayor Richardson urged
al 1 the Councilmen to get their written material to:him soon so this
could be accomplished as soon as poss~le.

Discussion was ha~ concerning a drain ditch that was allegedly
filled in by Leo Cook's horses. Attorney Joe Anderson was called
and he advised that it was Mr. Cook's responsibility to reopen this
ditch so that it could be used and ,to ~ee to~it that it remained
usable.
Mayor H~~na~dson stated that if all preliminary work could be
accomplished in tmme the 17th street widening and improvement may
be done this year.
It 'was' decided by the Mayor and Counci 1 to allow Lavern Williams
and a1loyd Cousin Saturdays off unless there was something urgent that
had to be done on this day.
Mayor Richardson asked Councilman Southwick to check on a used power
plant available from the State Civil Defense Dept. to be used as'an
auxilIary sou~ce of power for one of of the wells in the event of a
power failure., I' CoUncilman Southwick agreed to inspect it when
he was in BoiSe in the near future.

The monthly bills were approved and presented for payment.
There being no further business, the Mayor adjourned the meeting
at 11:45 P.H.
