Council Minutes 03/16/1970 2;3 1 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Ammon, Bonneville County, Idaho held March 16, 1970. I The Mayor and Council of the City of Ammon, Bonneville County, Idaho, met in a regular session at the City Hall, in the City of Ammon, on March 16, 1970, at 8:00 p. m. Mayor Kershaw presided at the meet- ing. Opening Prayer was offered by Councilman Marvin Anderson. Those present were the following: J)itayor" Thomas D. Kershaw, C. Marvin J. Anderson, C. Lynn C. Richardson, C. Keith Turnbow. Also present were City Attorney Joe Anderson, Police Chief Harvey Dann, and City Engineer David E. Benton. Meeting commenced at 8:00 p. m. Mayor Kershaw reported that he had met with 'Jesse E. Bunnell, and said they would discuss later in the meet- ing the hiring of a City Clerk, or a lID..eputy City Clerk. Mayor Kershaw read the minutes of February 24, 1970. The water is too soft to conduct the electricity. He asked that the City do something to see that they work properly. C. Turnbow made the motion, and it was seconded by C. Richardson, that the City Engineer investigate, using a float type switch on all three sump- pumps or another kind of a dependable switch. A wire from the transformer to the switch box on Teton and Curlew was reported dangling, and the Mayor said he would call the Power Com- pany tomorrow. I Mayor ~.shaw reported that there is a Food Storage Committee in the City that would like to use the City Bui'lding for'temporary storage. He asked the Councilmen to think it over and give their opinion on this matter. C. Turnbow wondered about such items as Insurance, Keys to the build- ing, and who would be responsible. C. Anderson said that it would be one day a week, with a set day for people to pick up their supplies. Mayor Ker!shaw reported that the Budget Ordinance had been advertised, and that no o~e had presented a protest. Attorney Joe Anderson had pre- pared the Appropriation Budget Ordinance (Ord. No, 93) Ordinance num- ber 93 was introduced and read by title - being the Annual AjppT19J'Ptiation Ordinance f01" the year 1970. It was ,moved by C. Turnbow and seconded by C. Richardson that the requirement of such an ordinance be read on three different and distinct occasions and be waived, and that such ordinance be adopted alld passedl,lc~pon its third reading, and further that the budget as heretofore adopted be confirmed. Upon a roll call vote the following vote was recorded. Voting aye was C. Richardson, C. Turnbow, and C. And- eITson. Voting nay--there were none. C. Swensen was absent. I Mayor Kershaw then declared Ordinance 93 passed by the affirmative vote of all Councilmen present, and instructed the Clerk to have a copy published as ,required by law. Mayor Kershaw reported that the roof on the City Building had beenre- paired a's authorized at a previous meeting for $1470.82 which consisted of $461. 50 for labor, and $709. 32 for materials. Guarantee bond on the roof will be for 8' years. The roof will have to be remopped at the end of 8 years for the second 8 year bond to be in effect. There is an unconditional guar- antee for labpr and materials on the first 8 year period and material only on the secon<:/. 8 year period. The company that did the work was "Building Maintenance 'Service" with Lyn T. Reiman, Manager.
