NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Ammon will hold
hearing September 18, 1972, at the hour of 7:30 o'clock
P. , at the City Hall, 3270 Molen Drive, Ammon, Idaho, for the
fo purposes:
To receive testimony and comments on the environmental
as cts of the proposed system of sewage collection from the
po lated areas in and around the City of Ammon.
The proposed project is for the construction and instal-
la of a system of sewage collection and interceptor lines
to collect the sewage from the populated areas in and around the
Ci y of Ammon and connect to the existing outfall lines and sew-
ag treatment plants of the City of Idaho Falls. The project is
a irst phase of a regional sewage facility as proposed in a
re study, together with water system improvements for the
ex sting Ammon water system.
The project will serve a predominantly residential area
no in existence and conforms to a land use plan projecting the
ar a to remain largely residential. There will be essentially
no change to the character of the surrounding area and all struc-
tu es are underground pipelines in existing right-of-ways. The
ject is considered necessary to eliminate the discharge of
s age effluent into the underground aquifer in the area. The
d' of the effluent through the primary and secondary sewage
t atment plant and then into the Snake River is designed to meet
e ironmental standards for discharge of water into streams. The
f cility is designed to eliminate a present and potential hazard
t quality of the ground water in the area.
A draft assessment of the environmental impact of the
p oject has been prepared and is on file at the Office of the City
C erk, 3270 Molen Drive, Ammon, Idaho, and is available for study
a d review.
The public is invited to respond at the hearing and to
m ke comments in written form within fifteen (15) days thereafter.
