Consideration of purchasing land north of the present park w ile it is available was recommended by Mr. Benton, with no decision being made. After lengthy discussion, it was decided to purchase the land west of McCowin Park were it is planned to situate a new well without BOR participation so there will be no p oblems concerning usage and to consider the street along the west side of the Park a a through street. Consequently, when Mayor Turnbow meet.s with BOR officials k, he will request participation funds for only the pool and shelter parking lots all section of road along the south of McCowin Park. Mayor and a 1 A repo urnbow reported that the fire truck has been repaired and is back in 'operation, tter has been written to the AEC in appreciation for the use of their fire truck. t was made by the Clerk on the meeting in Pocatello on revenue sharing. an Anderson reviewed the bids received on trucks as follows: Bids on a 1973 truck with a six-yard capacity dump bed were received from Ellsworth Dodge for $6, 53.68; Treasure Truck and Tractor, Rigby, $6,645; Blackfoot Equipment. $6,769.60; and Smith Chevrolet, $6.630. Bids on a one-half ton pickup truck with four-s ed standard transmission were received from Swager Motor, Rigby, $2; 919. 50; Stodda -Mead Ford, $3.070; Smith Chevrolet, $2,837; and Ellsworth Dodge, $2.673.22. Counci an Anderson moved that the Council accept the low bid of Smith Chevrolet on the two ton truck and Ellsworth Dodge on the pickup and get the trucks ordered. Second d by Councilman Cheney; voting all in favor; motion carried. Accord ng to Councilman Anderson, the fences and building have been moved to allow for the pening of Romrell Lane between Rawson and Owen Streets. Authorization was given t have some trees removed from the right-of-way and to have the grading done. Having orne pit-grade gravel put on the new street was questioned as not being necess ry in the arrangements that were made for opening the street, but Councilman Anders n was advised to get an estimate so that a decision can be made. an Cheney indicated that the city-sponsored basketball program should be near the end of November, with boys of the 5th, 6th, and 7th grades being o participate. Counci an Richardson read a proposed resolution for joining the Bonneville Council of Gove nments in a loose organization with the Upper Valley Resource Council and the But e County Council of Governments.
