<br /> <br />CHAPTER 11 <br /> <br />TRAFFIC COMMISSION <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION: <br /> <br />9-11-1: Creation of Traffic Commission <br />9-11-2: Purpose <br />9-11-3: Composition <br />9-11-4: Powers, Duties and Responsibilities <br />9-11-5: Appeals <br />9-11-6: Severability <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 1: <br /> <br />9-11-1: CREATION OF TRAFFIC COMMISSION: A Traffic Commission is hereby <br />created for the City of Ammon. The same shall be known as the “Ammon Traffic Commission”. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2: <br /> <br />9-11-2: PURPOSE: The Ammon Traffic Commission is created to advise the Mayor <br />and City Council on all matters related to traffic, parking, and the regulation of vehicular and <br />pedestrian use of the city’s streets, alleys and rights of way and to administer the same. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: <br /> <br />9-11-3: COMPOSITION: The Ammon Traffic Commission shall consist of the city <br />administrator, the public works director, the city engineer, the code enforcement officer, city <br />planner, and one City Council member appointed by the Mayor. The City Council member shall <br />be an ex-officio member. The city administrator may temporarily appoint a city employee to any <br />vacancy of the Ammon Traffic Commission, except the City Council member position. <br /> <br />SECTION 4: POWERS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Ammon Traffic <br />Commission shall have the following powers, duties, and responsibilities: <br /> <br />A. To inform the City Council of any proposed substantial changes in traffic circulation, <br />parking or related matters and to seek policy guidance from the City Council on the <br />same. <br />B. To give reasonable notice and seek input from parties who may be substantially affected <br />by any decisions of the Ammon Traffic Commission. <br />C. To recommend amendments to any portion of this code or any City ordinance which in <br />any manner relates to traffic or parking. <br />D. To establish locations within the city for the regulation of all matters relating to parking <br />including, without limitation, time limit parking, no parking, loading and unloading zones, <br />bus stops, taxi zones, handicapped parking, school zones and pedestrian zones and to <br />erect appropriate signage therefor. <br /> <br />
